About us and our services

Degersand is a small, unique campsite with excellent services. Here, you can enjoy the magnificent nature and the Åland Sea that ripples along the wide sandy beach. You can choose a place for your tent, motorhome, or caravan, near friendly neighbours or in a more secluded area. The campsite is open from 1 May to 30 September. Please contact us if you would like to come at a different time. The reception is staffed from at least mid-June to mid-August. If you arrive at other times, please let us know in advance by email or phone.

Guest dock

You can also get to Degersand by boat and dock at Torpö (60 9 25 N 19 36 11 O). From there, Restaurant Q and the beach are just a short walk over the hill (about 350 m).

Wood-heated sauna

Our magnificent sauna for hire is located right by the sea. The sauna is wood-heated which emanates soft, steamy heat. The delight only gets better when you take a dip into the sea now and again. The sauna has a large terrace where you can sit and enjoy the spectacular view of the Åland Sea. You can hire towels at the front desk.

Curling

You can stay with us in Degersand and play curling at the arena in Curling Centre in Storby. Find out more at www.curling.ax.

Golf

Fishing

You will need a fishing license if you want to go fishing; we have them for purchase. If it is kayaking you want, contact Nimix at +358 50 66716.

Games

We have fun games, such as children’s card games (3 years), Fia, croquet, Kubb, badminton rackets and birdies, volleyball, pétanque, and Mikado.

Playground

Our fun playground has two play boats, swings and lots of sand to play in and build anything the imagination can conjure up.

Frequently asked questions

What types of cottages do we have?

We have five well-equipped cottages with two beds and a bunk bed, about 35 m². The fully equipped kitchenettes have a stove, oven, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and dishes. They also have a toilet and shower, both indoors and outdoors. We also have five new first-rate overnight cottages, about 20 m². The cottages have two beds and a bunk bed. The kitchenettes have a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and dishes. The shower, toilet and a bigger kitchen are in the service building.

What is included in the cottage rent?

The rent includes towels, bed linen and final cleaning. Our prices are here.

Do I need to book a spot for my tent?

You do not have to book a spot for your tent; you will find those any time. Bring your own extension cord if you need electricity in the tent.

Where is the nearest grocery shop?

Hugos livsmedel is located in Hammarland, about 20 km from Degersand towards Mariehamn.

What services does the restaurant offer?

We start serving meals at noon. We have lunch and dinner, ice cream, drinks, and coffee. We have children’s meals, too. You can also buy various groceries at the restaurant. Our beach bar serves coffee, ice cream, drinks and snacks. We recommend bringing food for breakfast when you stay at Degersand.

Where is Degersand located?

If you come from Mariehamn, the distance is about 40 km and about 70 km from Långnäs. Berghamn in Eckerö is about 10 km from Degersand.

Is the beach a public beach?

Yes, and there is a large parking lot just past the Resort Degersand sign if you want to just go to the beach and not stay with us. A dressing room and toilet are near the beach.

What is the water temperature and is there (blue)algae?

The water temperature varies from day to day, depending on the wind. We have very seldom had any algae here, only a few times.

What is the best way to contact Degersand?

During the peak season we do not always have time to answer the phone; we focus on our customers here. Please send us an email at info@degersand.ax, and we will reply as soon as possible. Outside the peak season, call us at +358 18 38 004.

What time do we check in and out?

The check-in time for both the cottages and the campsite is 3 pm and check-out is at 11 am.
